NHL hockey comes to the KeyBank Center when the Detroit Red Wings pay the Buffalo Sabres a visit.
The Detroit Red Wings look to get back in to the win column after a 3-2 loss to the visiting Flames on Sunday. The Red Wings need a win in a big way as their offense was stagnant in posting loss number four in a row. Anthony Mantha and Tomas Tater lit the lamp for Detroit while the loss went to Jimmy Howard who stopped 23 shots. Calgary saw Garnet Hatheway score his first NHL goal with Matt Stajan and Mikael Backlund also finding the back of the net to make a winner of Chad Johnson and his 24 save performance which was the first of a lengthy six game road swing.

The slumping Buffalo Sabres offense finally did some damage in a 4-2 victory versus the visiting Flames on Monday. The Sabres might have taken advantage of the Flames playing their second game in a row but they certainly took advantage of the power play with three goals with the advantage. Altogether the Swords received goals from Matt Moulson, Kyle Okposo, Marcus Foligno and Johan Larsson for consecutive wins after scoring at least three times in the past eleven times out which made Robin Lehner happy as his 29 stops was a winning effort. Mikael Backlund and Matthew Tkachuk provided the the Flames offense with Brian Elliot stopping 28 shots.
The Red Wings are 0-4 in their last 4 overall and the Red Wings are 0-4 in their last 4 vs. Atlantic while the under is 13-2-3 in Red Wings last 18 Wednesday games. The Sabres are 0-4 in their last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game and the under is 7-1-1 in Sabres last 9 vs. Eastern Conference while the under is 6-1 in Sabres last 7 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game. The Red Wings are 7-1 in the last 8 meetings in Buffalo and the Red Wings are 22-5 in the last 27 meetings while the under is 5-2-1 in the last 8 meetings in Buffalo.
