The Toronto Maple Leafs look to shake off a tough loss at home last night as they take to the road to face off with the New Jersey Devils.
The Leafs spoiled an opportunity for what should have been an easy win at home against an underwhelming Hurricanes side but it was the visitors who skated away with the two points in what was a 2-1 final at the ACC. The Buds have no time to fret though as they head into New Jersey to battle the Devils who are off to a pretty solid start and have one of the best goalies in the league in Corey Schneider who will make the Devils a big favourite in the crease here as Jhonas Enroth is expected to get the call for the Leafs.

The Devils have won four in a row against their opponents from the Eastern Conference and are 7-1 in their last eight home games and will look to extend those numbers when they welcome in the Buds who are in the second leg of a double header. New Jersey made a splash in the offseason when they traded for Taylor Hall and he has hit in well with his new team, and while New Jersey doesn’t have a ton of offense they have enough to get by right now with the way their blue line and goaltending has been playing.
The Leafs are 7-19 in their last 26 Wednesday games and 17-58 in their last 75 road games while the Devils are 5-2 in their last seven against a team with a losing record and 6-14 in their last 20 against the Atlantic. This is a tough spot for Toronto as they take to the road after a hard fought loss and face a very good goaltender in Schneider. Take the home team.
