The Dallas Stars look to shake off a tough overtime loss on the road against the Blues as they face off against the Detroit Red Wings on Tuesday night.
The Stars suffered another tough road loss on Monday as they fell victim to a Vladimir Tarasenko overtime winner in what was a 4-3 final in an exciting contest but they can’t fret over that loss as they have another show down on Tuesday at the Joe. Dallas has been one of the bigger disappointments this season as they were pegged by many to be a force in the offensive zone and put up win after win but they are a modest 9-8-4 so far and need to snap out of their ugly road losing ways if they’re going to be considered a top team in the Western Conference. Antii Niemi is projected to get the start as he will face off against Petr Mrazek who is now the go to guy with Jimmy Howard on the injured reserve.

The Wings got off to a red hot start but have since cooled off and are coming off a home loss to the Montreal Canadiens over the weekend, but perhaps can take advantage of a Stars side coming off an overtime game last night. Detroit played well in their loss to the Canadiens as Mrazek made a few highlight reel stops but ultimately they couldn’t hold on and will have to be a bit sharper here as they welcome in a Stars side that is capable of going on a tear in the offensive zone in the blink of an eye.
The Stars are 5-11 in their last 16 against he East and 18-44 in their last 62 playing in the second game of a double header while the Wings are 4-1 in their last five against the Central and 1-7 in their last eight home games. Both teams have struggled this season but with Dallas playing last night and Mrazek getting the call here I think this will get a tight game that stays well under the number.
