NHL hockey comes to TD Garden when the Boston Bruins host the Carolina Hurricanes.
The Carolina Hurricanes have to be disheartened after squandering a two goal lead and then allowing the game winner late in a 3-2 defeat at the New York Rangers. The Rangers saw Nick Holden score their first goal with Rick Nash scoring the equalizer 24 seconds in to the third priiod. Nash also posted an assist on Jimmy Vesey’s winner on the power play with just over five minutes remaining to make Henrik Lundqvist and his 19 saves a winning effort that also snapped the Rangers four game winless streak at home. The Hurricanes saw Viktor Stalberg score twice but the Canes have dropped three of four with Cam Ward’s 25 stops coming up short.

The Boston Bruins never got their offense untracked and that eventually came back to haunt them in a 3-2, shootout loss at the Wells Fargo Center. Brad Marchand and David Krejci provided the Boston offense but that wasn’t enough to prevent slumping Boston from losing four of their last five contests. Tuuka Rask stopped 19 shots and also brushed aside Jakub Voracek’s third period penalty that ultimately prolonged the outcome. A low scoring, grind it out affair suited the Flyers who received the game winner in the shootout from Shane Gostisbehere in the 9th round with Michael Del Zotto and Claude Giroux lighting the lamp in regulation to make the 45 save effort of Steve Mason hold up.
The under is 2-0-2 in Hurricanes last 4 after scoring 2 goals or less in their previous game and the under is 2-0-2 in Hurricanes last 4 when their opponent scores 2 goals or less in their previous game while the over is 2-0-2 in Hurricanes last 4 in the fourth game of a 4-in-6 days situation. The over is 3-0-1 in Bruins last 4 vs. Metropolitan and the under is 2-0-3 in Bruins last 5 games playing on 1 days rest while the under is 2-0-2 in Bruins last 4 overall. The under is 5-0-1 in the last 6 meetings and the road team is 4-0 in the last 4 meetings.
Generally speaking, goals aren’t exactly falling from the sky when these teams take the ice but we have to wait for goalies and lines.
