ETCNBABNBASacramento Kings vs San Antonio Spurs 2/3/2010: Weezy's Free Pick Against the Spread NBA Basketball

San Antonio Spurs (27-19) at Sacramento Kings (16-31)

NBA Basketball: Wednesday February 3, 2010 10PM ET

The Line: San Antonio Spurs -4 Over/Under: 199.5

The Sacramento Kings look to get on the winning track as they host Tim Duncan and the San Antonio Spurs.

Wow what a difference a few weeks have made for the Sacramento Kings. They used to be one of the best covering team ATS in the NBA but now they're just 22-22-3 ATS. The Kings have lost nine of their last 10 games with the only win coming against the Golden State Warriors by three points. Out of all those losses, eight of them came on the road, where the Kings weren't much competition even to the inferior teams of the Eastern Conference. Rookie sensation and future All-Star Tyreke Evans is listed as probable for this game with a sore ankle and bruised hip. Tony Parker is also listed as probable with a sprained ankle.

The Spurs haven't been that spectacular themselves, losing four of their last six games at home. On the road the Spurs are just 8-9 straight up this season, but most of those games came early in the season when they still had numerous of injuries.

Overall Team Offense

  • The Sacramento Kings are ranked 9th on offense, averaging 101.3 points per game. The Kings shooting percentages include 45.5 FG%, 73.8 FT%, and 34.8 a  three point percentage so far this season.
  • The San Antonio Spurs are ranked 12th on offense, averaging 100.8 points per game. The Spurs shooting percentages include 47.5 FG%, 73.7 FT%, and a 37.2 three point percentage so far this season.

Home and Away

  • The Sacramento Kings are 13-10 at home this season, and 10-18 against Western opponents
  • At home the Kings are averaging 105.6 scoring, and holding teams to 105.2 points scored on defense.
  • The San Antonio Spurs are 8-9 while on the road this season, and 14-14 against Western opponents.
  • On the road, the Spurs are averaging 96.2 scoring, and holding teams to 95.8 points scored on defense.

SA are 7-1-1 ATS in their last 9 vs. NBA Pacific.
  • SAC are 1-9-1 ATS in their last 11 home games.
  • Over is 7-2-1 in SAC last 10 vs. NBA Southwest.
  • Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games vs. a team with a winning % below .400.
  • Spurs are 4-1 ATS in their last 5 games following a double-digit loss at home.
  • These two have already met earlier this year with the Spurs winning both games at home by double digits and they went well above the total. I think a similar situation will occur again tonight unless the Kings catch fire which they haven't been able to do as of late. The Kings do give up 105 points per game on defense so I don't think the Spurs will have much trouble scoring. Unless the Spurs tighten up on defense, then this one should go over the total.
  • Pick: Spurs -4 and OVER 199.5
