Real Madrid dropped their first points of the season at the weekend when the team turned in a somewhat sloppy performance away to Villareal. The worlds most expensive footballer, Gareth Bale did manage to score on his debut and the man who previously held the most expensive mantal Cristiano Ronaldo scored the other Madrid goal. Ronaldo just signed a contract entension that will see Real Madrid pay hom 18million a year that is 346thouand a week, ridiclous money. Carlo Ancelotti will look to play Bale and Ronaldo either side of Karim Benzema who has started the season well with two goals in four games. There is so much talent in this Madrid side Isco, Modric, not to mention the aformentioned star attractions that one cant help but feel its more of a collection of individuals than a team. Ancelotti certainly has his work cut out to get this team to gel and play as one but Ancelotti managed to do a good job last season at PSG and I do expect him to get things together at the Bernbeau.
Galatasaray have had a slow start to the league. Three draws in a row goes with their solitary win in the league and overall the team has struggled to break teams down. But defensively Galatasaray have been very solid and tomorrow nigh they will bring Real into a cauldron of noise. Gsalatasaray though will not only have a hostile atmosphere, they also have some terrific footballers with Dider Drogba, Wesley Sneijder, Felipe Melo, Altintop and Yilmaz . Last season Galatasaray went out in the quarter finals to Real but Galatasaray did win the home leg of the quarter final and with such big game players as Drogba would it really be all that surprising if Galatasaray won tomorrow?
Real Madrid have spent alot of money in the summer and they have brought in some terrific young footballers in Isco and Bale in particular but like all projects there will be some teething and it may take some time for these players to bed into the team. Galatasaray brough in Drogba and Sneijder last january and to go alongside Melo and Yilmaz I think Galatasaray will be a better team that Real. Real Madrid did struggle at the weekend away to Villareal and I think they may struggle tomorrow night as well. I really like Galatasaray on the handicap tomorrow, I just dont see Real being comfortable in Turkey tomorrow night and I think Galatasaray and their fans will make it a really fiesty affair.
