A scintillating Merseyside Derby last weekend left us all gasping for more as Eevrton and Liverpool played out a 3-3 draw in what was one of the games of the season so far. Roberto Martinez''s team though really should have won the game, having trailed twice the Toffee's led 3-2 and only gave up the equaliser in the last minute. Everton at the moment to me look the real deal, they look capable of beating the smaller sides and competing agaianst and beating the top sides given their chances. Romalu Lukaku has been an inspired signing as the Belgian is becoming a true superstar, he is on loan from Chelsea for the season but is someone Everton should try to break to bank to sign on a permanent contract. With Kevin Mirallas, Ross Barkley, Pienaar there is lots of attacking talent in Everton and Roberto Martinez hs him team playing the game with the ball on the ground so its suits the talented wingmen he has. James McCarthy and Gareth Barry are forming a really good midfield partnership and Everton are solid at the back with Jagielka and Distin excellent between two exciting wing backs in Coleman and Baines. Sound a little like an Everton love in but i'm impressed with how the team has reacted to the appointment of Rpberto Martinez and Everton look really capable at the moment of pushing for a top four spot.
Stoke under Mark Hughes have started to show signs that they can push up the table. The Britannia stadium was where Stoke City were renowned to pick up most of their points as their home record over the last few years was terrific under Tony Pulis. Mark Hughes has started to put his own mark on the team and they have shown some great fighting spirit in recent weeks, in particular when coming from behind to snatch a late draw against Swansea. The team followed that up with a good win at home to Sunderland. I think Stoke City will look to make things difficult and play a 4-5-1 in Goodison Park tomorrow but i'm not sure whether they will have enough to come away from Everton with anything.
The odds are prohibitive but I think taking Everton to win this one is probably a solid bet tomorrow. I like what Roberto Martinez is doing here at Everton and I think they continue their five game unbeaten run with a win at home tomorrow. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
