The South coast will see a cracking game of football tomorrow when Southampton host Chelsea, Southampton have a tough game on their hands and will be without first choice keeper Artur Boruc with a broken hand. southamption manager Pochettino will be disappointed with the loss to Everton at the weekend where the Saints were well in the game and equalised on the seventieth mnute only to fall behind again in the seventy fourth minute. Overall the Saints bounced back from a really rough run of form with a great win in Cardiff and then a great performance at Everton. A home game with Chelsea while definitely one of the tougher fixtures will be relished in St Mary's as the home crowd will be hoping for another good home performance and hopefully a win something Southampton fans have not experienced at home since November. Look for Lambert, Lalallana, Rodriguez to be the key attacking figures for the Saints and to put it to a Chelsea rearguard that have been anything but good on their travels.
Jose Mourhino's Chelsea put in a great performance while beating Liverpool at the weekend, Eden Hazard was the key for Chelsea again as the Belgian put in a terrific individual display scoring a goal and setting one up in an all round performance which cemented the importance of the individual to Chelsea's cause. Chelsea's midfielders have so much talent with Lampard, Hazard, Oscar and Mata. Mourhino is trying to find a balance but it is defintiely a tough task. Away from Stamford Bridge the blues have really struggled to keep clean sheets conceding in all put three games. David Luiz who has been playing pretty well as a defensive midfielder sweeper is now suspended and will be missed on Wednesday.
Another game where it would appear that although the away team is technically the better side the home team has alot going for them. Southampton have really upped their game in the last few games and played well in defeat to Everton. I fancy the Saints to give Chelsea a good game tomorrow and I think they can get a point from this game. I like them on the handicap again where we are getting better than evens on the home side +1. Its rare for me to be going with the underdogs in these games but home advantage and a physical center forward in Lambert that will fancy his chances against Terry and Cahill has me warming to Southampton. I also like the over in this one for those interested in totals. Follow me on twitter@antonpippo
