Derby games are often tight tense encounters and tomorrows Tyne Wear derby promises to be exactly that. Newcastle come into the game a little out of sorts, the departre of Cabaye and the suspension of Remy will hit Newcastle hard as they will be without two of the better players in the squad. Alan Pardew has brought in players to replace Cabaye and strenghten the squad and the arrival fo Luk De Jong is a big one for the club, whether the former Borussia Mochengladback player can be a success sraight away or nto is something we will just have to wait and see. This game is coming at one of Newcastle's worst run of form and at a time when trying to incorporate new players into an already solid set up. Could be a trap game for the magpies.
Sunderland have won four of five and are out of the relegation zone for the first timein a long long time. Gus Poyet has brought in some self belief and it is evident in every Sunderland game, the black cats no longer look like they are going to fold if they go a goal behind and they are actually playing some good football. With Altidore,Fletcher and Johnson all playing really well although Johnson it has to be said has been the inspiration of late with five goals in his last five games. I think there is alot to be said for going with the formteam in derby games, they are never predictable and it is really an anything could happen situation.
My gut on this is telling me this one finishes all level I'm taking Sunderland +1 on the handicap because I just think the black cats are in better form and even though the game is in St James Park I think Newcastle will struggle without Remy and Cabaye. Add to that Sunderland are in desperate need of points to move away from the relegation zone and you know an outright Sunderland win at 3/1 is not as crazy as it might seem.
