Manchester United Transfer News- Cavani, Luke Shaw, Toni Kroos?

Well the tabloids have been well and truly at it this past week with David Moyes supposedly ready to open up the Manchester United cheque book and sign anyone with a pulse. Of course most of this speculation is an overreaction to Manchester United exiting the Champions League. On course to finish outside the top four, which will mean no Champions League football for Manchester United for the first time in 19 years. Firstly the Star have Moyes ponying up £50million and Nani for Uruguayian frontman Edison Cavani. Cavani though only moved from Napoli to Paris St Germaine last summer, for a staggering £57million, will Paris be willing to let him go after one season? Its possible that this rumour is being generated from within Cavani's inner circle which does give it some credibility, Edison is unhappy playing on the wing and is much better through the center. Unfortunately for Cavani, Zlatan Ibrahimovich is also on Paris St Germaines books and is having a career year which of course dictates that he plays through the center. I suppose the real problem with this rumour is not that Cavani might be leaving but rather the destination its linking him with. Manchester United are a great club but are in a significant slide right now following the departure of Sir Alex Ferguson and there is a certain club in London with buckets of money and a big problem in the striker department. I think its more than likely that Cavani ends up at Chelsea if he does decide to leave Paris.

Two more interesting rumours that have been reported widely though is Manchester United's interest in Bayern Munich's Toni Kroos and Southampton's Luke Shaw. Firstly we will take Kroos and reports in The Guardian that Manchester United will offer Kroos £260,000 a week in wages to orchestrate the play at Old Trafford. Kroos certainly will not be receiving an offer like that from Bayern and with the recent confirmation that Bayern have agreed to sign Sebastian Rode from Eintract Frankfurt (when his contract expires in the summer) then maybe Bayern Munich's board are setting up a situation that will allow the sale of Kroos to go through. Bayern already have alot of star midfielders with Schweinsteiger, Lahm, Goetze, Alacantra, Martinez alongside Kroos and now Rode. It makes finiancial sense for Bayern Munich ,with the squad they have, to sell Kroos to Manchester United for the reported £45million United are prepared to offer. There is every chance that this is a deal that gets done in the summer so keep an eye on this one.

Manchester United Transfer News- Cavani, Luke Shaw, Toni Kroos?

Luke Shaw is probably going to his first World Cup this summer, the Southampton leftback has had a terrific year and is being linked with a host of clubs in both the Premier League and abroad. But of all the clubs linked with Shaw, Manchester United could be the best destination for the young English man. The three clubs most interested in shaw are Manchester City, Manchester United and Chelsea. Chelsea's starting left back Azpilicueta is having a terrific season and it may be difficult for Shaw to force his way into Jose Mourhino's side, although Shaw is said to be a lifelong Chelsea fan which would be a positive for Chelseas chances of signing him. In the sky blue half of Manchester both Kolorov and Clichy are fighting for that left back spot, would Shaw fancy a three way fight for his position? Probably not. That leaves Manchester United, where it is rumoured Patrice Evra will leave at the end of the season and that would leave shaw battling Alex Buttner for the position. Thats a much more realisitic starting role in my eyes and maybe one that appeal to Luke Shaw. The rumours is interesting and plausible, Manchester United certainly could do with an upgrade at left back if Evra leaves as Buttner has been far from convincing in his short United career.
