FIFA World Cup Soccer 2014 Group F Pick and Preview

Manager: Alejandro Sabella

Lionel Messi is one of the best players to have ever taken a soccer field. The brilliant playmaker has been the inspiration behind Barcelona's dominance of Europe over the last five years and he has four Balon D'or's to prove it. With an eye for goal, exceptional control and brilliant breath taking pace while dribbling there are few that can compete. At his peak at the moment this tournament is surely set up for Messi to take the international scene by storm. Criticised in the media, mostly unfairly, for failing to deliver in an Argentina shirt Messi will want to go all the way and deliver a third triumph for his country and inspire his side just as Maradona did in 1986. But Messi aside this is a ridiculously talented squad with MAnchester City's Sergio Aguero, PSG's Lavezzi, Napoli's Higuain and Real Madrid's Champions League MVP Angel Di Maria. If Argentina perfrom to the top of their ability they could well come away with the title of World Cup Champions. Either way I think they win this Group where they will meet their biggest Group rivals in the first game, Bosnia and Herzegovina

Prediction for Group: Group Winners

Team: Bosnia and Herzegovina

Star Man: Eden Dzeko

Manager: S Susic

Tough opening fixture for Bosnia and Herzegovina in their first World Cup game against one of the favourites Argentina. Bosnia will be lead by star striker Manchester City's Eden Dzeko who will face off against club team mate Sergio Aguero and Martin Demichelles. It will be a tough fixture for the Europeans but with a talented squad including Roma's Pjanic and Stuttgarts Ibisivech there is no doubt that Bosnia will give Argentina plenty to think about. I think Bosnia may just come up short of winning the Group but will qualify for the knockout stages in their first tournament

Prediction: Group Runners Up

 Team: Iran

Star Man: Ashkan Dejagah

Manager: Carlos Queiroz

Coached by former Portugal boss Carlos Queiroz and possessing a number of European based players Iran will come into this Group as big underdogs.Fulham's Dejagah scored some great individual goals for the cottagers this year and even though Fulham were relegated he enhanced his own personal CV. Unfortunately for Iran though I just think the team as a whole is going to struggle against three vastly superior squads. I think we see Iran put up a donut here losing all three group games.

Prediction: Group Exit

Team: Nigeria

Star Man: Victor Moses

Manager: Stephen Keshi

The African Nations Cup Champions come into this tournament with one of the strongest squads they have ever had at a World Cup. Funnily enough this is Nigeria's fifth World Cup and will be the fourth time they have played Argentina in the Group stages. Having lost all three previous meetings Nigeria will not be happy to see the Argentina team they face now look to be the strongest they have faced. but Nigeria are a strong physical team and if they are to cause an upset Chelsea pair Jon Obi Mikel and Victor Moses alongside West Brom's Odemwingie and Newcastle's Shola Ameobi will be key players. Defensively Nigeria look to have some good defenders but pace might be an issue. I think that their biggest chance of an upset here is to get at Bosnia but I'm just not sure they will good enough defensively. I think that a group stage exit is most likely for the African Champions but this is one group I am going to enjoy watching.
