Cameroon and Croatia will meet Wednesday night in a World Cup match that pretty much sends the loser packing.
Cameroon lost to Mexico in its opening match, 1-0, but the game wasn’t nearly as close as the score indicates. Mexico dominated much of the match and scored two other goals that weren’t allowed due to offsides. However, Cameroon was playing in heavy rain and there’s no telling what type of impact the steady downpour had on the play. Cameroon will desperately need to improve on the defensive side if it’s to have any chance, as Mexico sliced and diced it apart for much of their match. Of course, it would help if Samuel Eto'o returned from injury, but his knee isn’t looking good. Assou-Ekotto must show up big for Cameroon to have a shot.

Croatia will enter this matchup upset, as they feel they got robbed in the opening match against Brazil. The match was deadlocked at 1-1 before a questionable penalty kick changed the momentum of the match and gave the home team the win. I guess the bright side is that Croatia proved it can play with the favorites to win it all. Another positive for Croatia is that Mario Mandzukic returns from suspension and Luka Modric and Danijel Pranjic are expected to return from injury. With a full squad to choose from, Croatia has to be feeling good about itself in this match.
I’m not sure how you pick against Croatia in this spot. Not only are they the better team, but they’re angry and will be eager to make a statement against a lesser talented Cameroon squad.
Despite the controversial loss, Croatia did a lot of positive things against arguably the best team in the tournament. I don’t expect that to change against Cameroon.
Take Croatia for the win at the cheap price.
