Bosnia-Herzegovina wrap up their disappointing World Cup with their final group stage contest against an Iran squad who is still very much alive to advance to the knockout stage.

Bosnia-Herzegovina were expected to be a dark horse team in this World Cup and pose a threat to a number of teams in the knockout stage but they have fallen flat through the first two games and will be going home after their matchup with Iran. Edin Dzeko was supposed to be the savior for his country and lead them to the promised land and while he has played decently well in this tournament it isn’t nearly enough and his team will be heading home empty handed and will be forced back to the training pitch. Bosnia dropped their tournament opener to Argentina before a loss to Nigeria sealed their fate and while they can still leave with points in their name they can’t catch the Nigerians who have four points through two games and will be playing in desperation mode against Argentina.

2014 FIFA World Cup: Iran vs Bosnia-Herzegovina Pick, Odds, Prediction - 6/25/14

USA TODAY Sports

Iran played one of the most inspiring games of the tournament to date as they held Argentina in check for 94 minutes before a curler that will certainly be up for goal of the tournament from Lionel Messi broke their hearts and dashed their chances at advancing to the knockout stage. Iran deserved a much better fate as they were all over the Argentines and had plenty of offensive opportunities but it wasn’t to be as the world’s best player flexed his muscles and put cemented himself further in Argentine folklore. However, if Iran can get a result here against a disappointing Bosnia side and the Argentines can upend Nigeria there is still hope they will make the knockout stage if the goal differential can go in their favour. Nigeria hold a two goal edge at the moment so they look like they’re in decent shape especially considering the anemic offense of the Iranians but nonetheless I think Iran is getting way undervalued here and I see them doing enough to secure their first win of this World Cup.
