Germany and Brazil square off in a match up for the books as the European powers look to knock off the five time winners of football’s biggest trophy.
The Germans were pegged as co-favourites heading into this tournament as they have been juggernauts on the world stage for quite some time and while they haven’t been able to push through and get the monkey off their backs in the big games they look poised to do so here. Germany outlasted France in a very entertaining quarterfinals matchup as they netted an early marker and held strong defensively until the final whistle and now they get to face off against the hosts of the tournament without their budding superstar. Germany have to be the deepest team in the tournament and with the final four being what it is you’d have to think that on paper they have the edge over the other three sides in terms of talent though it might be close with Argentina. Germany matches up very well with Brazil and with Neymar being ruled out with a back injury I think this contest is the Germans to lose despite the crowd being heavily coloured with yellow and blue.

Brazil emerged through the quarterfinals with a victory over Colombia but they needed to play their absolute best to do so as they escaped with a 2-1 victory. While the celebrations were a aplenty across the country it came at a cost as their star player Neymar was kneed in the back and will be out for the rest of the tournament which to seriously jeopardizes their chances of winning their sixth World Cup. Brazil will also be without Thiago Silva who will be suspended with his second yellow card of the tournament and despite an attempt to appeal the ruling the Brazilian captain will also be out for this one which is a tough pill to swallow. Brazil will have the cavalry in the stands and they will certainly leave everything they have out on the field but I think we see a German side pull through here as I think they have too much talent in the middle to be denied here and I like the Germans at plus money to get it done in regulation.
