And so it begins for Manchester United a new season and a new manager for the second season in succession. Louis Van Gaal does not need introduction the former Bayern Munich and Ajax and Holland manager has had success everywhere he had been. With Manchester United he will take over the biggest club on the planet coming off their worst season in twenty odd years. Wayne Rooney has been named new club captain and will be expected to lead from the front tomorrow in a packed Old Trafford. United will not risk Robin Van Persie who is short of fitness but there will be starts for new boys Herrera and possibly Tyler Blackett or Reece James as Luke Shaw misses out with a hamstring injury.

Swansea come into the game in good shape, the most important business the swans did was holding onto Wilfred Bony. Sigurdson returns to Swansea where he had success on a loan spell prior to joining Tottenham where he just could not get a run in the starting team. Ashley Williams was linked with several moves but nothing has happened and the Swansea captain has spoken of his focus and the teams focus in a game that should be a media circus.

USA TODAY Sports

Manchester United have shown some good preseason form the team has looked very sharp up front and although there are some injury concerns I think that we will see Wayne Rooney and United get some early season traction here. Swansea will not roll over though and with Bony, Dyer , Routledge and Sigurdson they will test out this inexperienced United backline. I am taking the overs here as I see more potentcy on offence for both teams. Follow me on Twitter @ antonpippo
