On Wednesday two of the most talented squads in Europe will come face to face as German Champions Bayern Munich play host to the English Champions Manchester City. Pep Guardiola guided Munich to an easy Bundesliga title but his side were hammered in the Champions League by Real Madrid, beaten 4-0 in the Allianz Arena and well and truly outplayed. During the summer Munich brought in Robert Lewandowski and Xabi Alonso but lost Tony Kroos to Real Madrid. Overall Bayern have the nucleus of the Germany team that won the World Cup and have been playing with tremendous confidence, this will be a good test for Bayern as they face off against a Manchester City team that has huge strenght in depth. But Bayern themselves can call on Frank Ribery, Shaqiri,Pizarro from the bench and that is not even mentioning Arjen Robben who is likely to miss this game through injury. When you actually look at the strength of Munich's squad its scary good, no wonder they allowed Kroos to leave!
After Saturday's game Manuel Pelligrini said that his side were unlucky not to win the game against Arsenal, this was slightly misleading as Arsenal were the better team for long periods but Manchester City do have quality throughout the field that means they can win games even when not playing well. Sergio Aguero is one of if not the most prolific goal scorers in the World, with David Silva and Ya Ya Toure pulling the strings from midfield City have a truly World class offense. Stefan Jovetich may miss out through injury but Eden Dzeko would be a good replacement for Jovetich if he can not start. At the back captain Vincent Kompany is as good as they come and he will have to be at the top of his game against Lewandowski and Muller.
This game is set up to be a scintillating encounter. All over the pitch there is quality from Philip Lahm at left back for Bayern to Sergio Aguero at center forward for Manchester City there is absolutely no line of the field where there will not be World Class players, however with that said both defences have struggled to keep clean sheets and here is where the key could be. I'm taking the over in the game as I think that we have two world class offences with Aguero and Lewandowski two of the best center forwards in the game.
