As things go Manchester City must win this home game to set themselves up in this Group of death, after a heartbreaking last minute loss to Bayern in Munich Manuel Pelligrini's side must pick themselves up for what will be a tough encounter in the Ethiad. There is talent spread across the squad in Manchester though with Kompany leading the back line, Toure and Silva pulling the strings in the middle and the brilliant Aguero finishing it all off up front. Nasri, Dzeko, Fernandinho, Navas and Jovetich will all play starring roles over the season and the strength in depth in Manchester City's squad is frightening. The Ethiad is not the best atmosphere in the Premier League but on European nights it does seem to have a little more excitement, the sky blues will need everyone behind them tomorrow night as they face a real tough task.
What a start to the new season for Roma, six wins from six and only conceding two goals over those six game. Raul Garcia has put together a serious outfit that can both attack and defend. Ashley Cole and Maicon will be key for Roma if they are to stop Manchester City's supremely talented front three, the experience both bring to the table is irreplaceable. Daniel De Rossi will marshall the midfield and up fron ljajic, Destro and Gervinho will provide extreme pace on the counter attack. Roma also have the experiene of Totti on the bench if they need a goal in the last fifteen. A gift to have someone of that immense talent to come in to change the game even if he is nearing forty.
What a game we have in store for us on Tuesday night, its hard to really gauge Italian football these days and therefore this is a tough game to handicap. Napoli were knocked out of the last qualifying round of the Champions League and Juventus struggled for along time in the first round of Champions League matches. For me Roma look like the best Italian team out there right now and I like what I see on the starting eleven and the squad players. I am going to take the draw here. I think Roma will be able to stifle Manchester City and I think they will also provide a potent counter attack as well. Take the draw and follow me on twitter@antonpippo
