One of the games of the weekend will see Lyon play host to Ligue 1 leaders Marseille at the Stade De Garland, lyon have improved markedly this year and look like a contender for Champions League football. Lacazette the young french striker has eight goals in ten games this year and Gourcuff and Fekir seem to be delivering on their potential this season. Fournier has to be happy with how his side has recovered from an awful start to the season. Since losing their first three games Lyon are unbeaten in six and have won four of those six. Lyon do face a big test on Sunday night against a league leading Marseille but Lyon have always been that type of team that raise their game when facing the big guns, as they did a couple of weeks ago against PSG.
With PSG winning ugly on Saturday Marseille will be looking to keep the momentum going having won eight in a row. The run has been backboned by Gignac's goals, the frenchman has ten in ten this year and has been sensational. Andre Ayew may not be finding the net but he has been finding his teammates with several assists this season. Marseille look to have been helped by the lack of European football as the team has been playing out of their skin and just do not look like losing. They have been ruthless home and away over the last eight and will look to make it nine on Sunday night.
Really tough game here to call, personally I have been on Marseille since the start of the season. I did think the lack of European football would give them a good chance of concentrating on the league and it has worked out that way. But i have liked what I have seen from Lyon in recent weeks especially the last two at home in the Stade De Garland. Big wins against Montpellier and Lille were both impressive and I think Lyon will be relishing the thoughts of turning over Marseille. I am going to take both teams to score in this one, I like what both teams are doing offensively and I think both Gignac and Lacazette will be looking to continue their fine goalscoring records on the season.
