One of the sleeping giants of German football, Hamburg are currently really struggling. There is every chance the team gets relegated if the level of performances are not raised in the coming months. Hamburg have the players with Behrami, Van Der Vaart, Holtby but the problem lies with putting the ball in the net, just three goals scored this year has led to five losses with only one win and two draws.Lassogo up front has two of the three goals but in nine game Hamburg are going to need a bigger return. One bright spark for Hamburg going into this cup game is that one of their best performances this season came in a 0-0 home draw with Bayern Munich.
Unusually for Bayern they drew a blank last weekend against Borussia Mochengladbach a 0-0 draw has left Bayern still top of the table and still unbeaten in all competitions this term but is slightly worrying for Guardiola given the firepower Munich have. Frank Ribery will probably get a full game on Wednesday to get back some match fitness but Robben, Goetze, Lewandowski and Alonso will more than likely make way for fringe players. Hamburg is a tough place to go and Guardiola should not underestimate that fact.

On paper this looks a stone wall away win, Hamburg are 10/1 to win the game over 90 minutes. That is a big big price give Hamburg's perceived ability to raise their game against the better teams, see their 0-0 draw with Munich earlier this season and their 1-0 win against Borussia Dortmund two weeks ago. Either way I just cant call which Bayern team is going to show up, the one that failed to put the ball in the net last weekend or the one that put seven past Roma last week. For this reason I am taking Hamburg +2 on the handicap. I think they will have a gameplan to keep everything tight and as long as they get through the first 30 minutes (and I think they will) then they should coast home with a two goal head start.
