A shortage of defensive options for Louis Van Gaal could lead to Michael Carrick starting at center back tomorrow afternoon. Chris Smalling, Rojo, Jones are all missing through suspension or injury. This leaves United struggling for a center half to partner Johnny Evans. Van Gaal will hope that Carrick can be that stop gap with the midfielder occasionally playing there during Sir Alex Ferguson's time but usually only during an injury crisis such as the one United currently find themselves in. The strengths of this side though are going forward and with Di Maria, Rooney, Van Persie, Falcao and Fellaini who has recently received a new lease of life at Old Trafford, its not hard to see where the talent is. Basically United have the strongest front six in the league. Playing against a Crystal Palace side who have struggled to score goals and will be without loanee Zaha(on loan from Manchester United) then Manchester United have to be confident of getting all three points from this game.
Palace manager Neil Warnock was scathing in his assessment of his team's performance on Monday night, it simply was not good enough. Sunderland though deserved their victory and Crystal Palace players will have to look at their own ineptness in the game. Can Warnock inspire the Palace players to give more on the pitch against Manchester United? Well he probably wont have to, a trip to Old Trafford tends to bring the best out in most teams and I expect big games from Campbell, Chamakh and Doyle. Palace have the players that could hurt a Manchester United defence that looks weak. The question is will they have enough of the ball to be able to hurt the home team?

Although United games have now gone under in two games in a row , Chelsea & Manchester City, I still think that the overs in these games are the way to go. Manchester United are really poor at the back and they have an exceptional strike force. This is just a recipe for overs if ever I seen one. I am taking the overs in a big way on Saturday and I have a feeling this one could be won by halftime.
