As all International fans know the glamour tie of world soccer is agaisnt Brazil and on Wednesday Turkey have the privilege of taking on the Brazilians at the Atatürk Olimpiyat Stad? (?stanbul). Turkey have had a terrible start to their European campaign losing the first two and only drawing with Latvia last time out it is going to be a tough ask for the Turks to qualify now. Manager Terim will be hoping that this tie against Brazil can loosen the nerves and allow the team find some form. There are good players within this Turkey squad with Bulut, Yilmaz, Inana and Altintop all top class, whether or not they will be good enough to compete against a Brazil team that looks completely rejuvenated since the disappointing performance at the World Cup.
Dunga has come in as manager of Brazil and the nightmare that was the World Cup seems a distant memory. Thiago Silva and David Luiz now form a defensive partnership at club level and this should transcend well to the International stage. With a truly elite midfield of Fernandinho, Oscar , Willian, Couthino and Douglas Costa the future looks bright for the Brazilians. One of the most exciting things for me though will be the International debut of Luiz Adriano, the Shakhtar Donetsk striker is finally getting the chance to play for the national side and it is a long time coming. Had Adriano been part of the squad in the World Cup things could have turned out a whole lot different.
USA TODAY Sports
A star studded attraction for the Turkish Football Association here and they have to be commended for organising the game with a Brazilian team who are jam packed full of stars from the biggest teams across Europe. Paris Saint Germain, Liverpool, Chelsea , Shakhtar Donetsk and Barcelona all have representatives on this Brazilian side. I think friendlies are not really for betting but I would take a punt on Brazil -1 here, the Brazilians have been excellant since the World Cup and really look a quality side while Turkey have struggled mightily.
