PSG look to bounce back from a midweek draw when they host Nantes at the Parc Des Princes in Paris. PSG will have one eye on their upcoming Champions League game with Barcelona this week as the winner of that game will top the Group and qualify as the top seed which is important for the knockout stages. This could lead to a little bit of complacency in the PSG camp for this game against a tough Nantes team. PSG have plenty of quality through the squad but Ibrahimovich is their key man, only returning from injury a couple of weeks ago he was held out of the midweek draw with Lille and I think Blanc may decide to hold him out of this game as well and keep him fresh for the trip to Barcelona. That will mean more playing time for Edison Cavani the brilliant Uruguayian who has led the way scoring wise in Ibra's absence. PSG have a great squad and defensively they have one of the best partnerships in Europe in Thiago Silva and David Luiz. These two wont give up much against Nantes a team that has struggled all season in the scoring department.
Nantes are seventh in the table but have managed to get there while scoring the second least amount of goals in the league and would be higher but for a couple of losses in their last two. If Nantes are to stay up the table they must get more from their strikeforce. Veretout the young frenchman is current top scorer with five goals but three of those have come from the penalty spot. Among the six listed strikers in their squad there are only four goals. It's simple for Der Zakarian if they want to win more games they must score more goals. Not sure its going to happen for them here in this one though as they face the toughest fixture in their Ligue 1 calender.
I am taking PSG -1 here , I just think there is a vast gap in wuality here and I think with Cavani, Lavezzi and Pastore there is more than enouogh talent for PSG to get a win even if they do rest Ibra again.
