The second game from Group C will be a cracker.Algeria take on Senegal with both teams needing a result. It's possible that a draw would be enough for both to go through but that would only work if the other game in the group between South Africa and Ghana finishes a draw. Senegal to me look a young fit team that could go along way in this tournament if they can navigate this tricky fixture. Led by former Manchester United and current Stoke City striker Mama Diof and with Southampton's Mane sitting in behind there is buckets of pace in this Senegal team and they will look to exploit an Algeria defence that has looked suspect at times in this tournament. Papa Cisse, the Newcastle United striker should have recovered from injury to take some part in this game if required.
Algeria have a plethora of European based stars and were very unlucky to lose to Ghana with a last minute goal. Algeria will be looking to Bentalab (tottenaham), Brahimi (Porto) and Feghouli (Valencia) to lead the way as they take on a young Senegal side. These two are the second and third favourites for the competition so the question is will one of them be sent packing in the Group stages? Algeria were excellent in their opening game against South Africa and after conceding early they went on to win 3-1 in an impressive display. If they play like that here they could get a win.
I'm going to take both teams to score here. With the competition finally getting going I think we are going to see more goals and I like both of these offences. Diouf and Mane should really test Algeria's back four and with Algeria showing plenty of attacking prowess against South Africa I think they will really test a young Senegal back four.
