Southampton take on Swansea on Sunday at St Mary's with the Saints looking to move back above Manchester United in the league table. After Chelsea and Manchester City drew this is a big opportunity for Southampton to close the gap at the top of the league. Southampton will look to Pelle and Tadic to keep the winning streak going as the Saints have won five of six including wins over Manchester United and Arsenal. Ronaldo Koeman is surely in line for manager of the year no matter what happens for the rest of the year. One thing is for certian though Southampton must continue to win these type of games. Any slip ups will give hope to the chasing pack of Manchester United, Arsenal, liverpool and Spurs.
Swansea have struggled in recent weeks and the sale of Wilfred Bony definitely doesnt help. With Sigurddson and Gomis the key men now it will be interesting to see how Monk sets his team up for this tough away fixture. Routledge and Dyer will be expected to pick up the goalscoring void left by Bony's absence. Swansea need to start picking up a couple of poitns before they get dragged into a relegation battle. Sitting in tenth Swansea are probably ok for a couple of weeks but given their current struggles to score goals it is a slippery slop and Monk will be cognisant of trying to reach the four point mark sooner than later.
I like Southampton here, even straight up I think there is value there but the -1 looks the best bet of Sunday's games. Taking the Saints to get it done here.
