A relegation six pointer from Spain on Monday night as Elche host Rayo Vallecano with six points seperating the two teams. Elche are rock bottom of the Spanish league right now but a win here will take them out of the relegation zone for the first time in months and will give them a genuine shot at survival. Elche manager Fran Escriba knows that if his side is to survive they must win their home games and this type of game against a fellow relegation struggler is even more important. Jonathas has been the main man up front for elche and has seven goals in a tough season, after missing the last outing through suspension the Brazilian will be hoping to get back on the scoresheet against Rayo Vallecano. Former Real Madrid prospect Adrian will be a key figure in midfield for the newly promoted Elche, the question is can they create enough to win this game?
Rayo Vallecano have won two of their last three away from home and have come into some form at the right time of the season. Vallecano have a nice striking partnership up front with Baptistau and Beuno both hitting seven goals already this term. Chelsea youngster Gael Kakuta is on loan at vallecano and having a terrific season. While Vallecano have looked solid of late away from home they have actually lost three of their last four. This is going to be a tough match for both teams here lots of nerves will be on show as it is starting to get to that time of the year where every win becomes more important.
I am going to take both teams to score here. I'm not crazy about either team outright as I dont think there is much value there, on a whole I would take the draw in a pinch as a pick but not something I would be big on. I like both teams to score though as Elche have been decent at home and should have Jonathas back in the line up and the front two of Vallecano look dangerous.
