The Champions of Italy Juventus take on the 2013 beaten Champions League finalists Borussia Dortmund in Juventus on Tuesday night. Juventus come into this game as favourites given both teams current positions in their domestic leagues its apparent why Juve are favourites. Juvents sit atop Serie A nine points clear of second place Roma while Borussia Dortmund sit in twelfth in the Bundesliga and two weekd ago were bottom of the division. Juventus are led by Carlos Tevez, Buffon and the ageless Pirlo who scored a sumptuous winner at the weekend against a stubborn Atalanta side. With Pogba, Vidal, Llorent and Morato all providing telling contributions for the old lady this season this is a squad game and Allegri has inherited one of the best in Europe. Juventus have failed to deliver in Europe for the past couple of years but have a chance here to make a quarter final of the competition for the first time since losing 4-0 on aggregate to Bayern Munich in 2013.
Borussia Dortmund were in alot of trouble domestically they looked limp and were consistantly losing games they should have taken something from. Marco Reus signed a new long term deal, came back to full fitness and suddenly Borussia Dortmund look like a completely different team. Three wins on the trot has left Dortmund well up the table and they face into this away game with Juventus with some optimism rather than with fear. Jurgen Klopp's side have looked dangerous going forward over the last four games and with Aubeymeyang, Reus, Kagawa, Gundogan there are players capable of opening up Juventus' vaunted defence.
I'm going to take both teams to score here. I think Borussia know they cant come to Italy and expect to defend for 90 minutes as their defence just isnt good enough. But with Reus and Aubeymeyang I think Borussia can cause problems for Buffon and co and I think they will score. Juventus themselves have more than enough up front and through midfield to cause Borussia serious problems given Borussia's porous defence of late.
