Manchester City will host Barcelona on Tuesday night at the Ethiad Stadium, in what is aruably the tie of the last sixteen. Manchester City come into this game in patchy form but with a full squad to pick from for the first time in months Manuel Pelligrini will be in a confident mood. On Saturday afternoon Manchester City tore Newcastle apart showing no mercy with Aguero, Nasri,Dzeko and Silva being the protagonists in an excellent display. Pelligrini even had the luxury of being able to withdraw Sergio Aguero with thirty minutes to go and give Wilfred Bony his first taste of action with Manchester City. Former Barcelona midfielder Ya Ya Toure returned to City's midfield and was excellent in what was an all round impressive team display. Toure will miss the chance to get the better of his former teammates as he is suspended on Tuesday night as City face into a massive game for the club. But Manchester City have plenty of talented midfielders capable of filling in for Toure including former Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.
Barcelona have been in exceptional form of late, brilliant up until last weekend when they suffered a surprising 1-0 loss to Malaga at home in the Nou Camp. Lionel Messi has been majestic of late and Neymar and Suarez have also been brilliant. Neeymar and Messi aare havign terrific seasons and Suarez is starting to look like he fits in with Barcelona but Luis Enrique still has seen his side be a little too inconsistant this season, which has cost them the lead in La Liga. Barcelona have a talented squad but for me their midfield is on the wain and although Rakitich has been a superb signing they are still reliant on Xavi and Iniesta.
I am taking Manchester City to get the win here. I think this game will come down to the midfield battle and I like Manchester City's more than Barcelona's both have lots of quality up front and there is no doubt that with Messi, Aguero on the field both teams will fancy their chances of scoring and getting a win here. I just think that Manchester City at the price here is the value bet. I'm going big on the home underdog +1 and taking City on the moneyline as well
