Marseille host Caen in Friday night action from Ligue 1. Caen are actually the form team in Ligue 1 with four wins and a draw in their last five games. Caen produced one of the best comebacks of the year two weeks ago when coming from 2-0 down in Paris to level it 2-2 and are after taking points from their last two away games having previously lost three in a row on the road. Caen with Feret, Sala and Bazile have a trio of attackers in form and scoring goals. If Caen continue to play the way they are at the moment they will finish alot higher than they currently stand at 13th in the league table.
Marseille are looking to close the gap on the top two and as they play first this weekend this is a good chance for Marseille to put some pressure on Lyon and PSG. Marseille have dropped points in just two home games all season. If Gignac and Ayew can continue their strong season long form then Marseille are going to be in the shake up come the end of the season but Marseille do need to start picking up some wins. A run of three draws in a row has seen them drop to third in the table and four points off league leading Lyon.
I'm going to take the overs here as I think Marseille will eek out a 2-1 win in what should be an entertaining game.Caen have been excellent of late and I expect them to continue their strong performances by scoring here on the road. I fully expect Marseille to be pushed to the pin of their collar here but to still come away with the win.
