Manchester City travel to Liverpool to take on the reds at Anfield. Liverpool come into this game having just lost to Besiktas on penalties midweek. Brendan Rodgers rested both Henderson and Couthino for that game and the brazilian has been the best player Liverpool have had over the last six to eight weeks. The return of Daniel Sturridge has been a spark that Liverpool needed and with Sturridge, Sterling and Couthino there is some serious pace and creativity in this Liverpool team and they will be very dangerous on the counter attack on Sunday. To be honest Liverpool at home shouldnt be this big a price, but the Reds have had two days less rest and did travel to Turkey to play that Europa League game.
Manchester City come into this game off the back of a home loss to Barcelona in a game that was very much a game of two halves. City were awful in the first half , couldnt get on the ball and looked out of their depth. But in the second half City created a number of terrific chances that they just coudnt convert. If those chances had fallen to Sergio Aguero then the outcome may well have been very different. they fell to Dzeko though and I imagine he will be keen to get back out there and redeem himself. A tough away game against Liverpool is a good opportunity for Dzeko to do just that, with Ya Ya Toure back and able to run City's midfield this is going to be a huge game for both teams. Manchester City can close the gap at the top of the league to two points with a win here but can they break down a tough Liverpool team?
On paper Liverpool are the form team in the Premier League, but most of those results over the last eight games have been against poor teams with the exception of a win over Tottenham. They face a much bigger animal here when they take on the Champions Manchester City, there are a few side stories for this game with former City players Balotelli and Sturridge now lining out for Liverpool. I think though that one thing for certain is that we get some goals tomorrow. I'm taking the overs in a game that should be a very entertaining encounter and possibly the best game of the weekend in Europe.
