A west midland derby on Tuesday night as Aston Villa host Westbromwich Albion in Villa Park. Tim Sherwood has a big job on his hands here as Aston Villa look to avoid relegation but are stuck in the middle of a relegation dogfight right now. Christian Benteke is going to be the key to Villa's survival and the Belgian striker is seriously lacking form and Villa are struggling. Villa have lost seven in a row in the league and only scored three goals in their last twelve league games. Agbonlahor, Benteke, Sinclair will be key figures for Sherwoods Villa and this may be the perfect fixture to them to get back on track as derby games always have a way of inspiring teams to big performances.
Westbrom come into this game in some great form, since Tony Pulis took over West brom have lost just one game in twelve. Having won three of their last five and unbeaten in those five , West Brom come into this game with alot of confidence. Berahino scored a terrific winner at the weekend against Southampton and he will again be a key figure when they face Aston Villa. Ideye and Berahino are starting to look like a potent offensive partnership and they will fancy their chances of getting at an Aston Villa defence that has lost its last seven league games.
This one should be a firecracker of a game as two derby rivals go face to face in the only Westmidlands Derby in the Premier League at the moment. Both Sherwood and Pulis are relatively new to their roles with their respective clubs but Pulis has had alot more success. Sherwood continues to talk a good game but if his team doesnt start improving soon then Aston Villa will be relegated. This has the feel of a bigger game than just three points and I think this could inspire Aston Villa. I'm going to take Villa to overcome both their terrible form and West Brom's good form to get a surprising win. Not a big play but one with some value from my perspective.
