Another London derby for our viewing pleasure on Wednesday as Queens Park Rangers host Arsenal in a game that will have implications at both the top and the bottom of the table. QPR have gotten the majority of their points this season at home as Loftus Road has been a happy hunting ground for the R's, in fact ninteen of their twenty two points has come at home. But after losing three games in a row at home, both the fans and the players will be anxious to get a win here to settle the nerves and to try to move back out of the relegation zone. Charlie Austin has been the key man this season for QPR with fourteen league goals, but the scottish international is not going to be able to save the team on his own and he needs some help both from his defence and midfield as QPR simply need to score more goals, against a high flying Arsenal on Wednesday it will be interesting to see how QPR approach the game.
Arsenal come into this game having beaten Everton 2-0 at the weekend, a bounce back from a terrible 3-1 loss to Monaco midweek in the Champions League. Arsenal's form of late has been good in the Premier League winning four of their last five. If there has been a chink in the Arsenal armour though it has come away from home where the Gunners have lost five of their last eleven away games. While Arsene Wenger does have the quality in the side with Cazorla, Ozil, Giroud, Walcott and Oxlade Chamberlain there is a question about the toughness of this squad and this game against QPR will be tough. Loftus Road is a small compact ground and you can bet your bottom dollar the QPR are going to be fighting like crazy for their life in this game. In the away fixture QPR were somewhat unlucky to lose to Arsenal 2-1 but that was after Olivier Giroud got sent off for a crazy headbutt.
There are lots of things to like about Arsenal right now but there are just enough question marks for me to think that there is no value in taking the Gunners straight up here. This one is a bit of a reach but I think QPR can get something here. The R's home form has been good, Charlie Austin is an excellent finisher and Loftus Road can be a crazy atmosphere. I'm taking QPR +1.5 here on the asian handicap as I see them taking the game to Arsenal here in what should be a good game.
