Monday night football in Serie A which is probably the game of the day with Roma hosting Sampdoria. Roma come into this game in a sort of a funk, they have drawn four of their last five games and drawn ten of their last fourteen overall. The problem has been scoring goals with Roma just not very goal happy right now. Totti, ljajic and Pjanic are just not finding the net at the moment and while Raul Garcia has put together a terrific defence Roma need work up front where Ljajic is top scorer with just eight goals. Roma though do have match winners and Totti has obviously led Roma for over twenty years and is an iconic figure in the capital but he needs an out an out striker to play behind and there isnt one in this Roma team. It will be interesting to see if Doumbia can fill that void as he has recently signed from CSKa Moscow.
This one could be the battle of the defences as Sampdoria's success this year is based around the strength of their defence. Led by the defensively minded manager Mihjalovich. Sampdoria have some of the same problems that Roma have had, a lack of a striker. In Janury they sold top scorer Gabbiadini to Napoli and really his goals have not been replaced. Samuel Eto signed in the transfer window but has managed just one goal in six appearances and has already had one very public falling out with his new manager. Sampdoria are pushing to be in the European places but I think they lack the finishing up top to get there.
This one looks a nailed on unders bet and I am going to be all over that. If I was to go for a side I would take the draw at 13/5 it looks too big especially given Roma's current run of draws. But the bet I like most as I already said is the unders and that is what I am on.
