A relegation six pointer from the Imtech Arena as Hamburger SV host Hertha BSC with both teams in desperate need of the three points. Hamburg come into this game just two points above the relegation zone and with a goal difference of -20. Hamburg are the lowest goalscorers in the league and Van Der Vaart is top scorer with just four goals, this is a team in crisis and one that needs to start winning games or they will end up relegated. In January they tried to address their goalscoring deficiency by signing Olic but the former Bayern striker is yet to find the net in seven games. Can Hamburg be inspired by their home fans or will this be another let down game?
Hertha come into this game unbeaten in three and have some quality up front in former Chelsea striker Saloman Kalou and Schieber. Hertha have scored thirty goals this season almost double what Hamburg have managed and they will be looking to use their pace up front to threaten a solid Hamburg backline. Hertha are also in a precarious position in the league though and know they must pick up some points to move away from the relegation zone. A loss to Hamburg on Friday would be a disaster for Hertha.
Going to take the away dog here, I think Hertha may just sneak a 1-0 win here and the value is definitely on the away side who have looked better in recent weeks and were excellent in a terrific 2-2 draw with Schalke last weekend.
