Game of the weekend in the Premier League and one of the biggest rivalries in world football, Liverpool hosting Manchester United in Anfield. Liverpool are the form team, the favourites and the home side. All things point to a Liverpool victory here but derby games are never easy to predict and this is the biggest derby in English football with the two most successful clubs in English football going toe to toe. This will be Stephen Gerrard's last game against Manchester United for Liverpool and there is no doubt the Liverpool captain will want to get the win as a going away present.Brendan Rodgers side have been terrific recently and have won ten of the last thirteen Premier League games and are unbeaten in that thirteen game stretch. In that time the reds have gone from ninth to fifth and just two points behind Manchester United. Raheem Sterling, Daniel Sturridge and Philip Couthino are the key men going forward and they will fancy their chances against a Manchester United defence that have been abysmal at times and conceded in three of their last four away from home.
With all that is stated above one would think Manchester United have no chance tomorrow but the reality is something completely different. United were terrific last weekend when they dismantled Tottenham winning comfortably 3-0. Louis Van Gaal looks to have settled on a 4-3-3 and United look comfortable as well. With only two losses in their last nineteen games United have been very tough to beat. Wayne Rooney is the star man at United, captain, leader and inspiration but with Mata, Di Maria, Falcao in the squad there is no shortage of talent here. Manchester United will be happy with a draw at Anfield and I think Van Gaal will set up to be difficult to beat rather than going all out for the win. A draw here is a good result for Manchester United against a rampant Liverpool.
Really interesting game we are faced with here and while I think Liverpool probably deserve the favourites tag I think there isnt much value in taking Liverpool at that short price, instead I am going to take both teams to score for a max bet and will have a small side interest on the draw. I have a feeling this one could be a classic and we could be looking at 2-2.
