This should be a one sided affair as England host Euro minnows Lithuania in Wembley on Friday night. With Roy Hodgeson holding his cards close to his chest it's unknown as to whether the inform Tottenham striker Harry Kane will get a starting berth up front alongside captain Wayne Rooney. Hodgeson has proven to be loyal to a fault to players and this has to be a reason for the inclusion of Andros Townsend in the squad as Manchester United winger Ashley Cole is among the most in form in the Premier League this season. In fact Young could make a case for being in the top three wingers in the league this year with his performances rejuvenating his Manchester United career. With England facing one of the weaker teams in the group this is a real chance for Hodgeson to take some chances and maybe play a slight variation of the 4--3-3 that has been working so well with Kane being the focal point and Rooney and Sterling playing off him.
Wayne Rooney is the key man for England and the Manchester United captain has been in terrific form of late, his all round play against Liverpool was excellent although he didnt get on the scoresheet he led the line, kept the ball well and his passes were terrific. Rooney has matured quite alot in the last twelve months and the responsability of being Manchester United captain seems to have been a positive influence on the forward. England's squad is very strong, they come into this game as one of the favourites for the competition and have been ultra efficient since a dreadful World Cup. Rooney has five in five and Danny Wellbeck also has five in five, the Arsenal man will be hoping to get a start tonight but may have to settle for a place on the bench as Harry Kane's form with Tottenham will surely see him get his first England start?
Alot of questions to be answered here with regard to Englands starting eleven and what is their best possible team but either way we should see a comfortable England win here in front of a packed Wembley stadium. I'm going to take England -2 on the handicap as I think they will push on and make sure of the victory. While England in the past havent often hammered teams I think they have become more ruthless and should display some of these traits on Friday night.
