The Tyne Wear derby comes from the Stadium of Light in Sunderland on Sunday as Newcastle look to take advantage of a poor run of form for the home side. Newcastle themselves have been going through a rough patch, they have lost four of their last five in all competitions and John Carver's time in charge looks to be over at the end of the season. Carver has not been helped by the suspension of Cisse who is Newcastle's top scorer and best striker. Newcastle need more from Ayoze and Revillere up front, Cissokho will give his all in midfield and is a goal threat but it hasnt been enough for the magpies who have struggled since the departure of Alan Pardew. In fact Newcastle are lucky they had that great run of form under Pardew or relegation would be a serious threat.
For Sunderland this is a must win game, sitting just a point above QPR and Burnley there is a real chance that a loss here leaves Sunderland in the relegation zone.Sunderland have been up and down all season but the problem of course has been a mixture of poor defence and woeful offence. Steven Fletcher scored a couple for Scotland in the international break and Sunderland will be hoping that he gains from confidence from that for this game. Jermain Defoe, Fletcher and Wickham are the key men up front and Seb Larsson will be charged with creating chances for the top three. Dick Advocaat has a really tough job on his hand trying to save Sunderland it must start with a win here against their Derby rivals.
Going to take Sunderland here to get a much needed win. I think this could be a fiesty affair and one that wouldnt surprise me if there was a couple of sendings off. Take Sunderland at a big price to get the win.
