Tottenham and Aston Villa face off on Saturday with the two teams in very different places. Aston Villa are fighting hard for survival and have now played a game more than their relegation opponents and are only three points clear. A loss tomorrow for Villa will leave them in a very precarious position. On Tuesday Villa were saved by the brilliance of Christian Benteke as the big Belgian notched a hat trick in a 3-3 draw, of course Villa manager Tim Sherwood will know his oppoenents very well having been at White Hart Lane last season. Sherwood felt like he deserved to get the Tottenham job on a full time basis and he will really be going all out to prove to his previous employers that they made a mistake letting him go.
Tottenham look to get their race for Europe back on track after a couple of disappointing results. With Manchester City faltering, Tottenham want to be there to take advantage of any slip ups. Sitting seven points back though with seven games to play there is now no room for any more slip ups. Tottenham are led by Harry Kane and Christian Erikson. Kane has a realistic chance of finishing the season as top scorer in the league. Tottenham need him to continue his scoring exploits. Erikson has been brilliant this season and has come up with big goals when Tottenham needed them, they need a win here in White Hart Lane the question is can Erikson and Kane get it done?
I am taking the overs here, I think Tottenham probably get the win but there are a couple of factors that make this one tricky to call. Sherwood will have a good understanding of all the Tottenham players strengths and weakness', Aston Villa are fighting for their lives as well. This should be a really entertaining game though as most Tottenham games are and in White Hart Lane the overs have paid out in ten of their last twelve league games.
