Without a doubt the game of the weekend in the Barclays Premier League will see Chelsea take on Manchester United at Stamford Bridge in a top v third battle. Chelsea struggled last week against QPR but that was away from the fortress that is Stamford Bridge, the blues struggles though are based around not having a target man up front. Deigo Costa's hamstring injury has left Chelsea light up front and relying on Didier Drogba is not ideal for Mourhino and his side as Loic Remy is also struggling for fitness. More than likely Remy will start tomorrow but with Manchester United struggling for fit defenders Chelsea would love to have their own full fit squad to take on the third placed Red Devils.
Manchester United have their own mini injury crisis with Blind, Rojo, Carrick likely to miss out. But Manchester United right now are the form team in the league and with Van Gaal finally finding the balance with Mata, Fellaini, Herrera, Rooney and Young I think this team will cause Chelsea aloto of problems. Falcao is likely to start for Manchester United tomorrow as Rooney looks set to move back into midfield. Would anyone be surprised if the Colombian striker scored a couple and staked his claim for a permanent deal at Manchester United. I for one would not be surprised, I think Falcao is a fantastic footballer and I am hoping he stays in English football whether it be at Manchester United or elsewhere.
This is a really tough game to call as both teams are struggling with injuries in important areas of the field. Chelsea have real struggles up front and Manchester United look light at the back. To be honest though the way the two teams have been playing lately I think this game should be closer to a coinflip. I am going to take Manchester United +1 on the handicap because I think they have that little bit more firepower. Chelsea are a terrific side though and I expect this to be a tense tight battle. Alot of pressure on Chelsea and Mourhino if they lose here both Arsenal and United will be breathing down their neck , it will be interesting to see how Chelsea and their fans react if United take the lead.
