Aston Villa host Burnley at Villa Park with both teams signing off on disappointing seasons. Burnley were relegated three weeks ago and the Clarets will say good bye to the Premier League for at least a season on Sunday. Simon Dyche will give his players the chance to go out and perform in their final game with the likes of Danny Ings likely to move to a different club when the transfer window opens. Ings, Vokes and Boyd have been Burnley's main threat all season but they have struggled in recent weeks in fact Burnley have only scored two goals in their last nine games. The book makers odds though dont represent these stats with the overs evens either way and both teams to score 4/6. This is probably due to this being an end of season game that doesnt mean anything to either team.
Aston VIlla were abysmal last week as they succumbed to Southampton 6-1, Villa players definitely have one eye on their FA Cup final with Arsenal next week and now that they are safe we can only assume players will have completely lost focus on this nothing game. There are a few players though trying to play their way into the Cup Final and Tim Sherwood may have a tough time picking his best team if they continue to struggle as they have in recent weeks. Grealish, Agbonlahor and Benteke have the talent to take Burnley apart but the question is do they have the correct attitude? Anytime I have ever seen Agbonlahor play he gives 100% so I wouldnt worry about him, Benteke similarly keeps going and puts his all in and Grealish is very young so I expect a performance from the young Irish man as he prepares for his first cup final.
I think this one does end up being an entertaining game and I am taking the overs. Dyche and Burnley have been very defensive at times this season but with Ings, Vokes, Barnes and Boyd all putting themselves in the shop window I think they score a few against an Aston Villa team focused on next weeks Cup final. Take the overs and if your feeling like a little flutter Burnley to win and both to score at 11/2 seems generous.
