On Sunday the Republic of Ireland will welcome England to the Aviva Stadium with both teams looking for a competitive game before important qualifiers later in the month. England have one of the best sides in Europe and with captain Wayne Rooney of Manchester United leading the line England have one of the best strikers in Europe. Quite often Hodgson has been looking for a foil for Rooney but in Theo Walcott he has a ready made runner who can finish and create space in behind defences, Raheem sterling does a similar job but his finishing is not as strong and England seem to play better with the Liverpool player on the wing. New Liverpooll signing James Milner coudl start in the center of midfield beside Liverpool captain elect Jordan Henderson. This is a very strong England side and they will come to Dublin looking for a win.
Martin ONeill's republic of Ireland squad wont need any motivation to get up for this one as they face their near neighbours. With a strong team built around solid players like John O'Shea of Sunderland, Robbie Brady of Hull, Robbie Keane , Jonathon Walters and Shane Long this is a side that will give England plenty of problems going forward. Ireland have been playing very well under Martin O'Neill and have been given more opportuniy to express themselves with Wes Hoolohan getting a chance to shine in midfield.
Great fixture here for the FAI and the Aviva stadium should be full on Sunday for a glamour friendly against one of the best teams in Europe. As an Irish man this one is extra special for me and I will be in attendence tomorrow but this is a game that I think is tough to call. Ireland will definitely raise their game for this one and given all of Irelands players play in England they would love to get a win here to bring back to pre season training. While I think that Ireland will play well here it is hard to see them beating England who have too many stars. I am going to take both teams to score here.
