South Korea and Brazil play their opening match Tuesday night in the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup.

South Korea makes its first World Cup since 2003 and hopes to get out of the group stage for the first time. South Korea is a ball possession team that moves up and down the field beautifully and produces quality shots. Ji So-yun leads South Korea as one of the best players in this tournament and someone who has 38 goals in 74 caps. Jeon Ga-eul is another player who can find the net and Park Eun-sun won the golden boot in Vietnam in 2014. South Korea plays disciplined ball and can be dangerous on the offensive end when on the attack. The concern with South Korea is a lack of depth. Sure, So-yun is one of the top players in the world, but she’ll need help to spark a deep run. South Korea can also struggle against physical teams.

Bob DeChiara-USA TODAY Sports

Brazil has yet to miss a World Cup appearance and looks to return to the finals for the first time since 2007. Look most Brazil teams, you’re dealing with a ton of talent and players who can takeover when needed. Nobody in this tournament is better than Marta, who is a five-time FIFA World Player of the Year and capable of winning games by herself. Cristiane is one of the more skilled midfielders in this tournament, while Formiga and Rosana bring the experience with more than a combined 240 caps. Brazil should be considered one of the favorites to win the title. The concern for Brazil has to be the lack of discipline at times on the defensive end, as players can get lost in transition. There’s also a lot of pressure on Brazil with key players getting older.

This should be a fun matchup because it features two of the top players in female soccer, period. However, as for their teams, I’m not sure South Korea has enough firepower to hang with Brazil over the course of the match.

Brazil is very explosive and has what it takes to make a run at the trophy. I like the Brazil to win this game, and it’ll be one of the few times I ever eat large chalk.
