Peru and Brazil meet late Sunday afternoon in the 2015 Copa America tournament.
Peru’s biggest strength heading into this tournament is the amount of experience it has, which was good enough to finish third place in the 2011 Copa America. Claudio Pizarro, Jefferson Farfán, Paolo Guerrero and Juan Manuel Vargas are the four players with more than 50 caps, and there are 10 players with at least 30 caps. Guerrero is the overall key player for Peru, as he heads into this tournament in good form and was a consistent threat for Corinthians Paulista. The overall concern with Peru is the lack of great talent on this roster, as there’s really not a go-to guy who can take over games when needed. Most teams in this tournament have a guy who scares an opponent. Peru can’t put itself in an early hole, as there’s not enough above-average players to dig themselves out.

Brazil should have a nasty taste in its mouth after the way it ended last year’s World Cup on its home soil. There’s little question that Brazil is probably the most talented and balanced team in this tournament, as Thiago Silva locks up an above-average defense and Neymar is a threat to score anytime the ball is near him. Brazil’s defense has improved drastically since Dunga has replaced Luiz Felipe Scolari as head coach. We’ll also get a look at some promising players such as Philippe Coutinho and Felipe Anderson. The concern for Brazil are simply the expectations, as you could tell players were tightening up when the pressure became too much. Brazil must be stronger mentally if it's going to be able to put last year behind.
I look for Brazil to get off to a fast start,as it will be good for its psyche and a must in order to make a deep run in this tournament. Peru will be in trouble if Brazil jumps out of the gate like I expect.
I like Brazil to win by at least two goals in this match.
