After star player Arturo Vidal was arrested for crashing his car and driving drunk Chile will want to get their minds focused on the job at hand, beat Bolivia, top the group and move on to the quarter finals. Bolivia pulled off a huge shock when beating Ecuador 3-2 in the last round of fixtures and a draw here may well be enough to get the Bolivians into the knockout stages. I expect Bolivia to show up and defend for their lives tonight.Captain Raldes found the net inside the first five minutes against Ecuador and it was the spark they needed for a huge performance scoring three first half goals and hanging on in the end to win 3-2.
Chile were less than impressive against Mexico in their last fixture, really struggling to defend and allowing Mexico to dictate the pace at times. Chile twice trailed in the game though and did show good fighting spirit to get back in the game and eventually took the lead through a Vidal penalty the second one he has won and converted in this tournament. Vidal is a terrific footballer but his incident with the car crash this week reminds us of his reputation as a party boy, one which Chile can not afford to have ruin their run at this competition. Alexis Sanchez is the other leader of this team and the Arsenal man is the consumate professional from what I can see he will not have been impressed with Vidal's antics and neither should the squad or the fans. This is a real chance for chile to win an international competition.
I think this one is tough to call Bolivia have shown an ability to defend deep in this tournament and have also shown themselves to be very dangerous on the counter attack. The odds on Chile winning are too short especially as Vidal may be carrying an injury from the car crash. Instead I am going to take the overs as I think Bolivia can find a way past Chile's defence and I think Chile should win this one. Take the overs
