The Montreal Impact and Philadelphia Union meet early Saturday night at the PPL Park.
The Montreal Impact look to get back in the Eastern Conference race after splitting their last six matches. The Montreal Impact have to improve their defense that’s allowed seven goals in their last four matches and two more goals in six of their 13 matches overall. Evan Bush has come away with 53 saves and has allowed six goals in his last three starts. Offensively, Ignacio Piatti and Andres Romero have combined for six goals, Marco Donadel has two assists and Jack McInerney has 22 shot attempts. The Montreal Impact have scored four goals in their last three matches and have scored at least once in all but four of their games. The Montreal Impact have lost four of their last five road matches.

The Philadelphia Union also look to sneak into the East standings after splitting their last four matches. The Philadelphia Union have allowed 30 goals in 18 games played, which includes two or more goals in nine of those matches. Brian Sylvestre has 21 saves and has allowed seven goals in his last three starts. Offensively, C.J. Sapong leads Philly with six goals, Cristian Maidana has five assists and Fernando Aristeguieta has 32 shot attempts. The Philadelphia Union have scored four goals in their last five matches and have been shutout five times.
Philly won the last meeting which took place last year in August. However, Montreal has won two of the last four meetings. Also, the road team has never won in the all-time series between these two teams.
Given what we know, I like the Philadelphia Union to come out on top here and defend home field.
