Liverpool Transfer News - Ings, Firminho, Bogdan , Sterling

Signed from Hoffenheim the Brazilian winger was impressive in the Copa America and looks a natural replacement for Raheem Sterling should he end up going out the exit doors. Quality signing and one that should give Liverpool a real attacking threat who will also work hard for the team, this could turn out to be one of the signings of the summer if he can replicate his national form for the Reds

Adam Bogdan (Free)

The 27 year hold Hungarian goalkeeper has been signed from Bolton on a free transfer persumably to give Simon Mignolet some real competition a free transfer this one makes sense.

James Milner (Free)

A solid if unspectacular signing from Manchester City , Milner is a utility player that can play across the midfield and fill in at full back if necessary. Milner lacks what I would call star appeal and is a hard working player that is a consumate professional, Liverpool won the race for his signature and that looks a good thing for a team that just lost the heart of their midfield as captain Stephen Gerrard heads for Los Angeles. Not sure if this one will be a game changer in terms of how much it will give to Livepool for competing for the league title but Milner is a good player and will contribute to the reds success this season.

Danny Ings (undiscl)

Not officially complete until 1st July but Danny Ings will sign for Liverpool as a free agent as his Burnley contract runs out on June 30th. Liverpool will have to make some payment to Burnley as compensation but the deal is done and Ings will join a team in desperate need of goals. Ings and Daniel Sturridge will need to form a partnership if Liverpool are to move back to Champions League football next season, I'm not sure on this one, Ings works hard but is he going to be the twenty goal striker liverpool need? I doubt it but will hold my judgement until we see how the preseason goes.

Exit door beckons for -

Raheem Sterling

It looks like Raheem Sterling will not be with Liverpool when the season starts but as of now he is still a Liverpool player and this is because of the inflated value Liverpool have attached to the young winger. Manchester City have bid £40million for Sterling and it's unlikely they will go much higher, in my opinion the player wants to go and the offer looks about right, i think Liverpool should let hm go and use the money on a top class striker that they desperately need.

Mario Balotelli

Speaking of top class strikers, Mario Balotelli's time at Liverpool has been hugely underwhelming and the former Manchester City, Inter Milan and Milan striker is definitely surplus to requirements at Anfield.Balotelli though is not attracting any realistic offers and this may be one transfer that Brendan Rodgers and Liverpool football club regret for a number of years as they are likely to be burned on the fee. Eventually unrealised potential just becomes a painful reminder of what could have been and in Balotelli's case I  think this may be the story of his career.

Rumour Mill-

Javier Hernandez(approx £20 million)

The Manchester United striker spent last year on loan at Real Madrid and has been an out and out finisher all of his career. Liverpool are rumoured to be interested in trying to tempt the Mexican to Anfield and it is an intriguing one as Manchester United are said to be interested in Sterling. A cash + Hernandez deal may be tempting to both clubs and this is one I am going to keep my eye on. Hernandez wants first team football and with the lack of competition up front at Liverpool this has to be a tempting move, also Hernandez must be a little annoyed at how he has been frozen out at Old Trafford a move to their biggest rivals may just appeal to Javier.

Asier Illaremendi (£15m)

This one would be terrific if Liverpool can get it done, the defensive midfielder is very like a former Liverpool favourite Xabi Alonso. Real Madrid have already knocked back a £10m bid from the Reds and maybe unlikely to give up the youngster but Liverpool know they need a player of his calibre and this could be one of the missing puzzle pieces for Brendan Rodgers. Will it happen? We'll have to see.
