The last game in the Group stages of the Gold Cup will see Trinidad & Tobago take on Mexico at the University of Phoenix Stadium in Arizona. Trinidad are definitely through to the knockout stages of the competition but if they avoid defeat here then Trinidad will win the Group and avoid a tough quarter final. Trinidad have played very well in their openin two games with Kenwyne Jones starring up front for Trinidad. This is an interesing group of players though with the whole team playing as one. Even if Trinidad lose to Mexico this is a side that has had a good tournament and will be dangeous in the quarter finals.
Mexico have the most talented squad at the Gold Cup but after lighting the tournament up with a 6-0 win in their first game they squandered a bundle o chances and just could not score against Guatemala last time out. Peralta and Vela lead the way up front but they did not seem to be on the same page last time out and manager Herrera could maybe think about starting Gio Dos Santos, the former Tottenham midfielder has buckets of ability but struggles for application at times. Mexico have struggled to get their best line up on the field at the same with injuries and lack of form causing some problems at times.
The odds here are just not very generous and it is tough to be confident backing Mexico -1 on the handicap after their struggles last time out. Instead I am again going to the corner market and I am going to take Mexico to get over 6.5 corners at evens. Mexico should dominate possession here like they did on Sunday and as long as Trinidad stays close them I think the corners cover easily.
