Bayern Munich and Valencia meet at the National Stadium in Beijing in one of the best club friendlies of the weekend as teams really get into Pre Season. Bayern Munich just lost Bastian Schweinsteiger to Manchester United but in Thiago and recently signed Douglas Costa they have ready made replacements. Bayern's strength in depth is actually extraordinary and looking at their squad with Ribery, Robben, Goetze, Muller and Lewandowski one cant help but feel like the Bundesliga is already a one horse race, that isnt even mentioning Manu Neur, Lahm, Javi Martines, Alonso. Pep Guardiola has a huge squad but also huge expectations. Winning just a league title next season will not be enough as Bayern look to reclaim their European title.
Valencia are on the other end of the scale, having a small squad although littered with quality players. Piatta and Negredo will look to get a better partnership going this season as Negredo the former Manchester City striker struggled last season scoring just five league goals in thirty games. When you compare this to the twenty five he scored in thirty six games for Sevilla the year before signing for City it is obviously a disappointing return. Valencia managed to qualify for the Champions League but will need to improve in nearly every facet of the game if they are to compete in Europe and domestically where they have the unenviable task of taking on Barcelona and Real Madrid.
This one for me is a bit of a mismatch on paper and while I think Valencia will put in a solid performance I think Bayern's quality should be too much for the spanish in the end. Again given that these are friendlies I would suggest not over doing it but for interest this is definitely worth a bet at the odds given.
