The Colorado Rapids and Seattle Sounders meet Saturday night at CenturyLink Field.
The Colorado Rapids look to keep rolling after winning their last two matches and picking up points in four of their last six matches. The Colorado Rapids are a defensive team that’s allowed 19 goals in 19 matches and has produced six shutouts. Clint Irwin has come away with 57 saves and has allowed six goals in his last four starts. Offensively, the Colorado Rapids have scored 17 goals overall and five goals in their last two MLS matches. Gabriel Torres leads Colorado with four goals, Dillon Powers has five assists and Luis Solignac has 10 shots on goal. The Colorado Rapids have not won any of their last five MLS matches, which includes three losses and two draws during that span.

Although still leading Western Conference, the Seattle Sounders need a win after losing four of their last five matches. The Seattle Sounders are a defensive team that’s allowed just 19 goals in 20 matches and pitched nine shutouts. Stefan Frei has come away with 71 saves and has allowed five goals in his last three games. Offensively, the Seattle Sounders have scored 25 goals overall and just two goals in their last four matches. Clint Dempsey leads Seattle with seven goals, Marco Pappa has five assists and Lamar Neagle has 32 shot attempts. The Seattle Sounders have won four of their last five MLS matches on their home field.
Seattle beat Colorado in their match back in May, 1-0. The Sounders have also beaten the Rapids in their last five meetings, two of which resulted in a shutout. Colorado has never won a match in Seattle, and the Rapids last win against the Sounders came in 2013.
This is an interesting match due to the Sounders really stinking up the joint without Dempsey on the field. However, Seattle is back at home and kind of in a must-win situation in hopes of stopping the bleeding. I’ll take Seattle and the plus money.
