Manchester United continue their pre season tour with an International Champions Cup game against San Jose Earthquakes at the California memorial stadium in Berkeley California. Manchester United played well in their opening pre season game against Club America as Louis Van Gaal rotated through the entire squad with the exception of the injured De Gea. Most important for United fans in America was the chance to see Morgan Schneiderlin , Memphis Depayand Bastian Schweinsteiger in their United debuts all were impressive and Schneiderlin even netted the winner in the game against the Mexican side. Van Gaal is going to have a head ache trying to pick his midfield this season with so many quality options. Wayne Rooney probably need a foil up front as well but overall United looked to have strengthened in important areas and look more likely to compete for both Champions League and domestic league titles this season.
San Jose are missing their best player USMNT striker Wondolowski who has nine goals this season but will be on International Duty with the US in the Gold Cup. Without Wondo the team are a little blunt up front although Amarikwa has netted two goals in two appearances this season. This is a big ask for the MLS side though, taking on a Manchester United team that are in the midst of their pre season but still should have too much quality for the MLS side.
Very little value here in the market, this is one of those pre season game that I would rather not put money on, it's impossible to know how much players will play, the heat will be a factor and Van Gaal could make even more changes with an eye on the Champions League qualifier that United have to play in a couple of weeks. For interest though I am going to take Manchester United -1 as I think there are United players looking to break into the starting eleven that will be out to impress LVG.
