Real Salt Lake has come away with points in four of its last six matches but could use three points here. Real Salt Lake has scored 21 goals in 21 matches and has scored six goals in its last four matches. Sebastian Jaime leads Real Salt Lake with four goals, Javier Morales has seven assists and Alvaro Saborio has 30 shot attempts. Defensively, Real Salt Lake has pitched seven shutouts and allowed two or more goals in six matches. Nick Rimando has come away with 43 saves and has allowed four goals in his last four starts. Real Salt Lake has come away with points in its last five home MLS matches, which includes a 2-0-3 record during that span.
These teams are meeting for the third time this season, as Real Salt Lake won the match in June and there was a draw back in April. In fact, three of the last four matches have resulted in a draw. Sporting Kansas City hasn’t beaten Real Salt Lake since July of 2013.
This is a huge game for Real Salt Lake if it's going to get back in the thick of the Western Conference. Also, while Sporting Kansas City has been red hot, Real Salt Lake has been just as good at home. I’m siding with the home team here in a big matchup where it needs all three points.
